FOOTBALL LOVERS!! Ngolo Kante vs Eden Hazard – Who Is A Bigger Chelsea Legend?

There has been a recent debate about who is bigger Chelsea legend between Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante.

Both players contributed a lot to Chelsea as a team in their various positions as a player to the extent that every season both players are considered very important to the team.

In the debate of who is a club legend, such player must have served the club for a long time, be passionate about the club on the pitch and be ready to do anything for the team to win.

All these qualities are what makes fans consider labelling a player a legend of the club.

Considering the efforts of N’Golo Kante, a defensive midfielder and Eden Hazard, an attacking player, who is actually a bigger Chelsea legend?

N’Golo Kante

On 16 July 2016, Kanté signed a 5-year deal for Chelsea for a reported fee of £32 million.

He made his major competitive debut for Chelsea on 15 August 2016 against West Ham United and went on to help Chelsea to a 2–1 victory.

On 13 March 2017, Kanté was named man of the match and scored the only goal in the 51st minute, in an FA Cup quarter-final win over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

He would go on to gain an FA Cup winners medal, appearing for the whole 90 minutes in a 1–0 victory over Manchester United in the final on 19 May 2018. BBC Sport awarded him the man of the match award.

On 23 February 2021, Kanté marked his 200th appearance in all competitions with the club as Chelsea beat Atlético Madrid 1–0 in the Champions League round of 16.

Kanté was widely lauded for his performances against the Spanish sides, Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid, en-route to the final of the Champions League.

Kante is no doubt a very important player for Chelsea in the midfield putting up consistent performances year-in-year-out to help the team.

Apart from always helping the team, his loyalty to the club is second to none.

Eden Hazard

In June 2012, Chelsea officially confirmed on its website that the club had agreed terms with Lille for the transfer of Hazard for £32 million.

Hazard contributed a lot to Chelsea’s attacking line up from his debut till his last match before going to Real Madrid.

His dribbling skills, passing and creativity are all big asset for Chelsea which he used to help them win games and trophies.

Mourinho had once declared Hazard the best young footballer in the world after Hazard maintained his excellent form in Chelsea’s 1–0 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on 3 February 2014.

As a result of Hazard‘s impressive performances throughout the 2014–15 campaign, his manager declared him “one of the top three players in the world”.

On 26 April, Hazard was recognized as the best player of the season among his peers, winning the PFA Players’ Player of the Year.

A week later, he scored the only goal as Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace to win their first Premier League title since 2010.

In 2018-2019 season, Chelsea won the Europa League following a 4–1 win over Arsenal in the final, in which Hazard scored twice, also assisting Pedro’s goal.

After the match, Hazard suggested that it probably was the last time he would play for the club which made many fans question his love for the club.
