NL LIST!! 6 Nigerian Artistes That Might Never Fade Away In Nigeria’s Music Industry

The music industry is a market place of creatives fighting to earn the love of people to their crafts.

To stay relevant for a very long time takes a lot efforts. Infact, to blow as an artiste is easy but to stay blown is the hardest thing to achieve as an artiste.

In a music industry where new artistes emerged everyday, it will be pretty difficult to maintain top spot for a very long time.

The way many artiste fade away like a soft mess is scary if you’re an artiste but then, the reasons an artiste will fade is not far-fetched;

An artiste can fade if it’s just his time to fade away.

An artiste can fade because of some tough personal issues he or she is facing

Pride, arrogance and inability or refusal to learn can make an artiste fade

Lastly, an artiste can fade due to lack of funds or loss of sponsor.

Considering the above point highlighted above, we have come up with 6 Nigerian artistes we think might never fade away as long as they don’t stop doing music.

1. Mayorkun

Mayorkun is versatile. He can work around virtually any kind of vibe

At this point in his career, even if he is not in DMW again, he can fund his career.

Mayorkun is an artiste that knows how to engage his fans on social media even if he is not dropping music and that alone is working well for him.

2. Davido

The fact that he has the money alone is enough for him to stay relevant for a long period of time.

Money solves all problems especially an industry and country where people want to associate with money.

Exactly why Omo Baba Olowo trademark worked so well for him.

Davido‘s kind of artiste might not be this big if not for the fact that there is money on ground to make necessary things happen.

3. Burna Boy

Burna Boy is a product of intentionally experimenting with different sounds.

He started with Reggae Dance hall, then moved gradually to afro-beat. Burna Boy is an artiste that easily learn and adapt with new sounds.

That’s why you will see him sampling songs and now he is a full blown afro-beat act with a Grammy Award.

The Grammy Award alone is enough to keep him atop in the music game for as long as forever.

4. Olamide

Olamide is a kind of artiste with a great adaptive traits. He started out when Indigenous rap was the big thing in the music industry.

When the industry moved from Rap to Dance & Groove, Olamide keyed in easily and was consistent about it.

Azonto, Shaku-Shaku and others vibe that came out in his 10years journey met him strong. He even created his own Shakiti Bobo dance.

Now, you’d see Olamide doing Rap of international standard. It’s evident in his “999” album.

Except Olamide just want to leave music for una, he will always shine on top.

5. Fireboy

Out of all the new generation of artistes in the music industry right now, Fireboy still remains the only one with so much potential to stay relevant for more than a decade.

He is a versatile singer with so much vocal prowess and great songwriting skills.

With 2 solid albums to his name in the space of 1year, you can tell Fireboy‘s fire will keep burning for a long time in the music industry.

The only thing that can make Fireboy fade at this point is loosing the good structure around his career and lack of fund to keep pushing on.

6. Teni

Teni is just like a female version of Mayorkun in Nigeria’s music industry. Talented, versatile and maintains good relationship with fans.

Teni can also adapt to any style of music and vibe. That is noticeable in her recently released “Wondaland” album.

Her record label is just a financial imprint on her music journey, I doubt Teni would be affected in anyway if she exits Dr Dolor record label.

Obviously, that she’s been pushing her self from Day 1 and ofcourse her name is the only thing putting her label on the map.

Teni is too strong on her own to fade away.
